Earn College Credit While in Middle School
Does your 8th grade student want a head start on a college education? At ORVA, eligible 8th-grade students can participate in the tuition-free Expanded Options program, also known as dual enrollment. This program allows students to take courses that will fulfill high school graduation requirements through a local community college while earning both high school and college credit.
Participating students must initiate the process by enrolling with the community college. Students may be required to speak with a placement counselor and take the college entrance exam. Students are required to take classes that will fulfill high school graduation requirements and are classes that ORVA is unable to offer them.
